Post-doctoral Research fellowship in Wetland InSAR
Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Research fellowship in Wetland InSAR as a joint position between University of Miami (UM) and Florida International University (FIU). The position is part of a NASA support project focusing on hydro-ecology of tropical wetlands.
The successful applicant will join an active geodetic research program at UM and a hydrological research program at FIU. The position is available immediately.
Candidates should have, or be near completion of, a PhD in Geodesy, Geophysics or related areas. The candidate will conduct space-based hydro-ecology research using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) observations. The candidate should be familiar with SAR interferometry (InSAR) data processing and analysis. Experience with Polarimetric SAR (PolSAR) and Polarimetric InSAR (PolInSAR) data processing is an advantage. The research will involve the application of these processing technique to SAR data acquire over the Everglades (south Florida ) and Sian Ka'an (Yucatan , Mexico ) to monitor surface water levels, soil moisture, vegetation classification, vegetation structure, and their changes with time.
