Geomatics covers the science and technology of gathering different sources of geospatial data, which after storing, interpreting, analyzing, modelling and distributing, can be turned into useful geographic information. Geomatics involves the tools and techniques used in surveying, cartography, photogrammetry, remote sensing, satellite navigation systems, geographical information systems and other earth-related disciplines.

InterTUR 2010 Conference

An event which brings together researchers from all over the world specialised in a wide variety of disciplines to discuss policies for sustainable Tourism, renewed and innovative challenges for Cultural Tourism as well as strategies to develop and promote Tourism Resources. This conference aims at developing a link between higher education, the scientific community, business and the authorities responsible for land management and tourism within the political- administrative sphere.

nterTUR 2010 takes place at ISMAI - Instituto Superior da Maia in Maia and UTAD - Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro on November 24th ,25th and 26th 2010. It is sponsored and organised by CEDTUR – Centro de Estudos de Desenvolvimento Turístico, in cooperation with CETRAD- Centro de Estudos Transdisciplinares para o Desenvolvimento (R&D unit, 4011 FCT).
