Two motivated individuals with a background in the use of radar sensors and in situ data to estimate soil moisture and/or biomass measurement from polarimetric synthetic aperture radar are required to join a team of Australian scientists. The scientists are being recruited under the auspices of a prestigious federal Fellowship program introduced to attract and retain the best and brightest early-career researchers from within Australia and around the world. In this three year Fellowship the successful candidates will exploit data from a new airborne polarimetric L-band interferometric radar capability, collected from a series of airborne campaigns to support the NASA Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) mission over. You would be working in close collaboration with Professors Walker, Lowell, Milne, Ge and Hacker at the Universities of Monash, Melbourne , New South Wales and Flinders, with the possibility to spend up to 12 months at the collaborating institutions. This is a full-time (fixed-term) position available for 3 years.
