Clark University seeks to fill a one-year position at the assistant professor level in Geographic Information Science (GIS) to begin August 2011. Particular interest is focused on individuals with a specialization in one or more of the following GIS application areas: land change science, earth systems science, climate change, and food security. The major responsibility will be to teach core GIS courses including Intro to GIS and advanced vector GIS as well as a graduate seminar in the candidate’s field of expertise, and to serve undergraduate and graduate programs in Clark’s School of Geography (www.clarku.edu/departments/ geography) and the Department of International Development, Community, and Environment (IDCE) (www.clarku.edu/departments/ idce). Knowledge of ArcMap 10 and Idrisi software is required; knowledge of programming languages used in GIS and experience with online mapping applications are also desirable. PhD in Geography or related discipline is required by August 2011.
